Wear resistance of textiles refers to the ability of textiles to resist wear under the repeated friction of mechanical force. The wear resistance of textiles has a direct impact on the use time and effect of products. The wear phenomena of textiles under repeated mechanical friction mainly include damage, mass reduction, discoloration, pilling and so on. In daily life, textiles will encounter friction in various environments. Therefore, the wear resistance test of textiles is an important test to reflect its quality.
main cause:
(1) There is continuous friction between the fibers in the textile, and the fibers in the yarn break due to mutual friction, which leads to the damage of the textile;
(2) When the fiber structure is extracted from the textile, the original yarn structure and textile structure will be changed. Due to the interaction between the yarns, the fibers may be pulled out, which will eventually cause the yarn to become thinner and the textile fabric to become thinner. In serious cases, the textile fabric will be disintegrated;
(3) The surface of the fiber is worn, and the debris on the surface of the fiber is lost;
(4) Friction causes the fiber to melt or plastic deformation. Through mechanical action, the fiber is pulled to the surface, forming fluff, which tangles into a ball and connects with the fabric surface by fixing the fiber.
