The R & TTE Directive 1999 / 5 / EC Directive of the European Union has been implemented for many years, and many places can not meet the existing products. In fact, the EU has already started to draft new directives in 2007, but the progress is not so fast, so in 2011, it submitted a draft to the European Commission, and finally on May 22, 2014, the EU officially released a new version of the wireless equipment directive red 2014 / 53 / EU, which is based on the EU's new CE framework resolution 768 / 2008 / EC, and red 2014 / 53 / EU replaces the original EU wireless equipment Directive R & tte-d 1999 / 5 / EC.

Since the official release and entry into force of the new EU directive, there is a two-year transition period. From June 13, 2016, the original R & TTE Directive 1999 / 5 / EC will be repealed, and the products evaluated according to the old directive can continue to be sold until June 13, 2017. After June 13, 2017, only wireless devices evaluated in accordance with the new red 2014 / 53 / EU are allowed to be sold in the EU market.

The purpose of the new directive is to clarify the scope of spectrum use, improve the effectiveness of spectrum use, and facilitate the implementation of laws and regulations and market monitoring among member countries.
