Ce-red certification introduction

1) 999 / 5 / EC Directive has been implemented for many years, many places can not meet the existing products. In fact, the EU started to draft new directives as early as 2007, but the progress was not so fast, so in 2011, it submitted another draft to the European Commission.

On May 22, 2014, the Radio Equipment Directive (red) 2014 \ 53 \ EU

Officially published in the official journal of the European Union (OJ) and effective on June 12, 2014, the directive will replace the radio and Telecommunication Terminal Equipment Directive (R & TTE Directive). Before June 12, 2016, Member States shall convert the directive into the laws of Member States, and the original R & TTE Directive (1999 \ 5 \ EC) will be invalid.

From June 13, 2016, Member States shall adopt the new Radio Equipment Directive (red); from June 13, 2017, products complying with the old R & TTE Directive will not be allowed to be sold in the EU market.

The purpose of the new directive is to clarify the scope of spectrum use, improve the effectiveness of spectrum use, and facilitate the implementation of laws and regulations and market monitoring among member countries.

Before the wireless products can be legally sold in EU countries, they must be tested according to the red directive to obtain approval, and they must also have CE mark. Wireless remote control products must meet the requirements of red directive red 2014 / 53 / EU.

The difference between the new standard red instruction and the old standard R & TTE instruction

1. The scope of red products only includes wireless communication and wireless identification equipment (such as RFID, radar, mobile detection, etc.). If RF equipment is not used for communication or identification, it will be under the control of EMC and LVD;

2. The TTE is removed, so the red command is only used for wireless products;

3. The radio receiver has been included in the scope of red instruction (previously covered in EMC instruction and low voltage LVD instruction)

4. The lower limit of instruction coverage frequency has been cancelled (the control starting frequency of R & TTE was 9 kHz before), while the upper limit is still 3000 GHz;

5. The evaluation opinion of the notified body has been replaced by "type inspection certificate";

6. The manufacturer can only use CE mark with notified body number (full quality assurance - type H) after its quality system has been evaluated by the notified body;

7. Class II equipment is no longer required to inform spectrum agencies of various countries;

8. The identification (warning number) of class II equipment is no longer needed, but the warning of restricted use in some countries still needs to appear on the product packaging;

9. It is no longer necessary to display the CE mark in the user manual, but the frequency band and transmission power used for RF must be indicated in the manual;

10. The suite for personal assessment is no longer under control (i.e. no red certification is required);

11. The new instruction requires the use of a unified charger;

12. The address and contact information of the manufacturer and importer must appear on the equipment, and can appear in the user manual when the equipment is too small.

Red certification scope

1. Short distance wireless remote control products (SRD), such as: remote control toy car, remote control alarm system, remote control doorbell, remote control switch, remote control mouse, keyboard, etc;

2. Professional radio remote control products (PMR), such as: professional wireless walkie talkie, wireless microphone, etc;

3. CTO, CT1 and CT1 of wireless telephone;

4. ISDN (digital telephone product);

5. DECT (enhanced digital radio telephone);

6. GSM and CDMA test of mobile phone;

7. Bluetooth products such as Bluetooth headset;

8. Induction data transmission equipment with working frequency < 9 kHz;

9. Radio receiver equipment.

The necessity of red certification

Red Certification indicates that the product has met the safety requirements specified in the EU directive; it is a commitment of enterprises to consumers, which increases consumers' trust in the product; products with CE mark will reduce the risk of sales in the European market:

1. The risk of being detained and investigated by the customs;

2. Risks investigated and punished by the market supervision institution;

3. The risk of being accused by peers for competitive purposes.
